Food For Thought: Faith In The Word

Scripture Reference: Saint Mark 9: 17-29;

Food For Thought:

(Mark 9: 22;) “And oft times it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: But [IF] thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.”

There are two very significant points found in verses 22 and 23:

  1. As long as Christians continue to give in to the wiles of the devil, faith will never produce anything positive in them. Understand that Satan’s primary purpose is to destroy us.

The father of this child said, “My son is oft-times cast into the fire, and into the waters to be destroyed…But if thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.”

Jesus said in John 10:10, “The thief cometh only to steal, kill, and to destroy:”

Notice in verses 22-23, that there are two “IF’s”; one by the father of the child and one by Jesus, the Eternal Logos. Divine Deity can use “If thou canst” just as much as man can use it.

In fact, God has the only lawful right to use such a term, for it is a settled fact that all things are possible with Him. Say amen to that.

So–If we can quit our eternal questionings and Satanic unbelief concerning God’s will and power, we should find that, “All things will be possible for us as well.

And, this is the only avenue wherein faith will produce a positive harvest in our lives.

It is not the question so much as to what God can do–We know what He can do! It is what we can do in believing God and His word. Say amen to that.

According to Romans 14: 23; “He that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”

Any question of god’s will concerning anything that He has already promised and provided for all men, is an excuse of unbelief and must be repented of. (Hebrews 11: 6;)

  1. When we as Christians quit doubting the truth of God’s word, and believe that God has said it and that settles it. Faith will then produce a positive harvest of ‘Righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost’.

Number 23: 19; “God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?”

This is one of the greatest and most comprehensive promises and revelations of God is Scripture. Truly God is not a man but a Spirit Being, as Jesus taught in John 4: 24.

Jesus’ primary purpose is to give us life (Zoa). Jesus answers the father of the child and said in v23), “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

Listen to the latter portion of John 10: 10; Amp, “I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it over flows).”

The three laws of faith is: 1) If thou canst believe all things are possible 2) According to your faith be it done unto you. And, 3) Do you believe Jesus is able to do for us what is needed?

Faith is the word of God comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Three words I want to leave with you before I take my seat:

The Bible (Bibios) which means a sacred book that contains the revelation of God; the principles of the Christian faith; and the rules of practice. Bibios then becomes the Rhe’ma word which is the written saying of God, and the Spirit of reveals to us the Rhe’ma word. So that when we began speaking the word it becomes the Logos, the spoken word of God (John 15: 7;).

In times of sickness, affliction, persecution, tribulation and trial, poverty we should be quoting the Rhe’ma word that will cut in pieces the snares of the enemy. (Psalms 27: 13-14;- Isaiah 54: 17;)

Yes, faith In The Word Produces A Rich Harvest Now this is a sermon in thought!
